WOMAN | Past, Present, Future

A multidisciplinary art exhibition dedicated to female identity, by AKTO’s I.SAEK

Members of the student community and the Alumni community of AKTO’s I.SAEK present the art exhibition WOMAN | Past, Present, Future, whose works explore the redefinition of woman and seek new narratives for gender equality & the female identity of Tomorrow.

Students (male and female), alumni (male and female), and professors (male and female) — from all I.SAEK Specializations — approach the concept of woman through works of graphic design, digital design, painting, illustration, photography, fashion & styling, interior, furniture and object design, recycling art, video art, animated films & animatics, motion graphics, and multimedia applications. Through a multitude of expressive mediums, we convey the mark of diversity in art and sign off on a unique artistic event with strong social implications.

The exhibition is hosted at AKTO Gallery (Athens Campus, Evelpidon 11A, Pedion Areos).

Opening: Wednesday, February 18 | 6:00 PM

Today, as timeless injustices and crimes against women are daily revealed, we urgently demand the restoration of gender equality at home, at school, at work, in entertainment, and within art itself. Today, as the role of women is under constant discussion and negotiation, we “delve” into the past, listen to the present, and envision the future, seeking… perspective on the female identity of Tomorrow.

The design of the exhibition’s Visual Identity emerged from the corresponding Real Work Project, implemented during the academic year 2024/2025. Within the RWP framework, members of the 2nd-year student community of the Print & Electronic Media Graphic Design specialization competed, under the guidance of their professors and in collaboration with the School’s Marketing & Communications Department.

The process included the delivery of the brief, intermediate evaluation stages, and continuous monitoring of progress by Popi Anastouli (AKTO Marketing & Communications Director) and Markos Zouridakis (AKTO Creative Department Head).

Ioannis Tsianelis was named the winner of the competition, while Marianna Papageorgiou and Konstantinos Papasakellariou were finalists.

Exhibition duration: February 18 – 26, 2026.

The exhibition is open during Athens Campus operating hours, with free admission for the public.
