\u201cArtistic Advice (and victorisms)\u201d by the acclaimed designer and illustrator, Viktor Koen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With great pleasure and in collaboration with the School of Visual Arts (SVA) of New York<\/strong>, AKTO<\/strong> hosts the Artvice<\/strong> exhibition by the internationally acclaimed designer and illustrator Viktor Koen<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the opening night, a lecture, open to the public, will be held, where the artist will present his working method, mainly in graphic design and illustration, from the moment a project is assigned and the initial idea is identified, to its implementation and delivery\u2026 engaging with the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition \u201cArtvice Artistic Advice (and victorisms)\u201d<\/strong> attempts to share the artistic process through a series of advice, distilled from Viktor Koen’s lifelong engagement with art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Koen notes, among other things, \u201cFree advice always holds a special interest. And it is this advice, beyond continuous work, that constitutes a stable and decisive factor for who I am and all that I have achieved. For a teacher, expressing and exchanging views on something as personal as art (with all the emotional factors involved in accepting or stubbornly rejecting them), giving advice becomes a lifelong endeavor. Deciding which advice, to whom, when, and how to express it for its best application or understanding is not a science but\u2026 a form of art.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition highlights their visual autonomy, with imagination (and Koen’s characteristic humor), through a series of works that reflect the concern for transmitting the subjective experience of being an artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exclusively for members of the AKTO student community, on Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6, a masterclass<\/strong> will be held on the topic of \u201cidea development \/ execution \/ strategy\u201d<\/strong>, led by Viktor Koen. The masterclass will be an intensive and productive experience for developing a focused mindset, fostering personal style and aesthetic direction, aiming for participants to advance to the next level of practice in applied arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhibition Duration: March 4 – March 18, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Friday, during the operating hours of the Athens Campus, with free admission.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few words about the artist<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viktor Koen was born in Thessaloniki. He holds a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts in Jerusalem and earned his master’s degree with honors from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York. An acclaimed designer and illustrator, he currently heads the Illustration and Comics departments at SVA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has collaborated with The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, The Guardian, Esquire, Nature, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Wired, ESPN, Bloomberg, The Atlantic, The Economist, Fortune, Forbes, Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Rizzoli, Atlantic Records, Virgin, IBM, Stavros Niarchos Foundation, BBC, and the UN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to his talks at TED events, he regularly lectures at academic and professional conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His work is exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, included in public and private collections, and frequently featured in publications and art books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has been awarded the Communication Arts Award of Excellence, Graphis Gold Awards, American Illustration Awards, and the 3×3 Educator of the Year Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
